Most exterior coatings also have a minimum application temperature printed on the can. Painting below it — or when a cold night follows a warm day — can prevent the paint from curing correctly, leading to premature peeling.
Humidity and rain matter as much as temperature
Surfaces need to be dry, and paint needs dry hours after application to set. A humid stretch or a surprise rain can ruin fresh work. This is why experienced crews watch the forecast closely and schedule around it rather than pushing ahead on a marginal day.
